About

About me

I am Michael Mottahedeh, the founder of VC Library, the premier one-stop VC directory. Our platform provides a curated selection of podcasts, blogs/news, and newsletters, providing unparalleled insights into the VC ecosystem. I developed VC Library to streamline access to vital resources for founders, investors, and industry enthusiasts, empowering them to become subject matter experts.

I am a former management consultant and early-stage startup operator with a keen interest in venture capital. I graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and shortly after began my career as the Director of Operations and Business Development at CalUp, an early-stage tech startup. There, I led go-to-market programs, launch activities, and business development efforts. Following my time at CalUp, I spent two impactful years at L.E.K. Consulting, actively participating in over a dozen due diligence and growth strategy projects, primarily within the TMT and Consumer sectors.

Since leaving consulting, I’ve immersed myself in the VC and startup community, organizing events, networking with experienced professionals, and serving on JFE Network’s leadership committee. I also serve as a part-time Associate at Filter Fund where I collaborate with a top-decile performing GP to drive early-stage tech investments in AI, ML, cybersecurity, and privacy. My role involves spearheading market research, conducting due diligence, and authoring reports that inform investment decisions and engage LPs.
